Due to the recent decision of County Board Member
Rick Aylesworth not to run for re-election in order to spend more
time with his family has created a vacancy in District 3.
First of all I would like to thank Mr. Aylesworth for his years of
dedicated service to the citizens of Logan County. As
for myself I am a life-long resident of Logan County and although I
never have held an elected office I am no stranger to public
service.
In 1986 I was hired by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department where I
performed duties of correctional officer, dispatcher, deputy and
patrol sergeant.
In 1997 I was hired by the Illinois State Police and was assigned to
District 9 until 2015 when I was assigned to my current position
with the Executive Protection Unit.
I believe in order to serve the citizens properly an individual must
be
-
Ethical
-
Honest
-
Willing to listen to the citizens
-
Have the ability to make unbiased and informed
decisions
-
Willing and able to invest the time needed to
properly serve the people

Throughout my 30 years in Law Enforcement I have
held myself and co-workers to a high standard of ethics and honesty.
I have also had to make the hard decisions that have affected
people’s lives.
In order to make these decisions you must be able to listen to the
individuals involved and gather as much information as necessary to
make a unbiased decision.
I believe these standards are no different for a person serving in
an elected position.
Although I will soon be ending my career in Law Enforcement I would
be honored to continue serving the citizens of Logan County.
Thank You,
Logan County Board
