[March 14, 2016]  McLEAN - James W. "Jack" Watkins, Jr., 81, of McLean, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at LeRoy Manor in LeRoy.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the McLean Christian Church on Friday, March 11, 2016.

Service: Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the church

Obituary

James W. "Jack" Watkins, Jr., 81, of McLean, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at LeRoy Manor in LeRoy.

Funeral services for Mr. Watkins will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the McLean Christian Church. Mr. Tony Billingsley will officiate.

Burial will be in the Funks Grove Cemetery in rural McLean. Military Rites will be accorded by the McLean Burger-Benedict American Legion Post #573.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the McLean Christian Church on Friday, March 11, 2016.

James Willard "Jack" Watkins, Jr., was born February 8, 1935, in Auburn, Kentucky, the son of James Willard Watkins, Sr. and Elsie Felty Watkins. He married Faye E. Rhodes on May 13, 1967, in Gibson City, Ill. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2005.

Jack is survived by his children: Barry Watkins of Bloomington and Sally (Rick) Waldschmidt of Normal; three grandchildren: Jordan Watkins, Olivia Haas, and Chelsie Watkins; two brothers: Don (Donna) Watkins of Buckley, Washington, and Jerry (Peggy) Watkins of Crystal Lake; and two sisters: Bev Hoaglin of Lincoln and Ruth Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother: Buddy Wayne Watkins.

Jack was a member of the McLean Village Board, Crosswinds Flying Club, McLean American Legion and McLean Christian Church. Jack served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War in the Strategic Air Command. He retired from Bloomington Tool and Engineering in Towanda. He and his wife, Faye, had owned Honeycomb Beauty Salon.

Memorials may be made to the family.
