Hartsburg-Emden
finished their season a perfect 26-0 as they claimed the elite
first place trophy.
Coach Jennifer Hayes was excited for her
team following the championship. "It was a great night of
volleyball for my young Stags! We came into the season with a
goal! We knew we had not been to the 7A state tournament for 2
years and the 7th graders were determined to make it this year!
I was a little worried about being undefeated going into the
post season. For an inexperienced squad having no losses makes
for a lot of pressure! They handled the pressure like pros!”

Recapping the highlights on the way to the
state title, Coach Hayes also provided this information,
“They took the first game of regionals
against Normal Calvary and never looked back. We had a three
game thriller against Grayville in the semi's (at state) and I
knew if I could get them through that I could get them through
anything that lay ahead!
