							Obituary 
							Thomas Evans, 92, of Atlanta, passed away at 10:57 
							p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at the LaSalle 
							Veterans' Home in LaSalle.
 Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016, 
							from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Atlanta 
							Christian Church.
 
 Funeral services will follow the visitation on 
							Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the church. Mr. Doug Maris 
							will officiate.
 
 Burial will be on Monday, March 21, 2016, at 10:00 
							a.m. in the Atlanta Cemetery. Military Rites to be 
							accorded.
 
 Thomas Evans was born on April 7, 1923, the son of 
							Samuel Thomas and Matty Smith Evans. He married 
							Janette Cox on July 28, 1946, in Bloomington. She 
							preceded him in death on March 2, 2000.
 
 Tom is survived by one daughter, Diane (Tom) Winkler 
							of Bloomington; one daughter-in-law, Linda Evans of 
							Atlanta; six grandchildren: Tim (Tonya) Evans, Cindy 
							(Keith) Eimer, Sarah (Chad Boitnott) Evans, Jennifer 
							(Coley) Vahey, David (Kristine) Winkler, and Aaron 
							(Stacy) Winkler; and twelve great-grandchildren.
 
 Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Janette; one 
							son, David Evans; six sisters and seven brothers.

                Tom was a farmer, started and ran Evans Heating and Cooling, and 
				then opened Evans Implement in 1978 with his son, until he 
				retired in 1985. Tom served in the United States Marine Corp., 
				spending three years in the South Pacific during World War II. 
				He was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church, Atlanta 
				American Legion Post #341, 40 EN 8 in Lincoln, Elks Lodge #914 
				in Lincoln, and Bloomington VFW #454.
 One of the greatest joys of his life was his grandchildren. He 
				was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
 
 Memorials may be made to Atlanta Christian Church, Atlanta 
				Rescue Squad, or LaSalle Veterans' Home .
 
 Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Quiram-Peasley 
				Funeral Home in Atlanta.
