Spring
is such a wonderful time of year! Warmer weather arrives, flowers
begin to grow and you can feel excitement of the summer approaching.
But the most important event of spring is not the loss of frigid
temps longer days of sunlight. The most important event of spring is
Easter and celebrating the physical resurrection of Jesus!
|
The Resurrection of Jesus is the crowning and central truth of
our faith in Christ.
But what does that really mean?
Among other things it means that death does not have the last word
and that God’s love for Christ and for all of us is stronger than
death. And because “He is risen” (Matthew 28:6) what happened to
Jesus is a promise that will one day happen to us.
The resurrection of Jesus is also a time in which we celebrate the
hope and power of life transformation now. Before the resurrection
the disciples were afraid, confused, disappointed, and
disillusioned. But when they saw the risen Christ a transformation
occurred. Fear gave way to courage, disappointment became joyous
celebration. What was true then is still true today.

Easter is the glorious day when we celebrate the hope and power of
new life afforded us in the resurrection. The bodily Resurrection of
Jesus Christ reminds us of God’s transforming power. His power,
which encourages and calls out to us to break the chains that bind
us, allows us to live transformed abundant lives here and now. For
the one who was buried on Good Friday has risen! The One who was
dead is now alive.
Easter changes everything!
How is your life transformed, changed, and different because of
Easter?
