LINCOLN
- Carolyn J. Smith, 80, of Lincoln passed away peacefully at 8:02
a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at her home with her loving family by
her side.

United Methodist church of Lincoln

Obituary
Carolyn J. Smith, 80, of Lincoln passed away
peacefully at 8:02 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at
her home with her loving family by her side.
Carolyn was born November 28, 1935 in Lincoln, the
daughter of Ray E. and Cora Cathleen Cochran Money.
She married Lawrence “Fred” Smith July 3, 1956 in
Lincoln. Her parents preceded her in death. Her
husband survives in Lincoln.
Also surviving Carolyn is her daughter: Janice Rae
(Edward) Wright of Lincoln; and Grandchildren: Amber
Nicole and Bo Eric Wright, and two very special
young girls that called her grandma: Lily Escobedo
and Abby Montgomery.
Carolyn graduated first in her class at Lincoln
Community High School in 1953, she then graduated
from secretarial school in Chicago. She was a member
of First United Methodist Church of Lincoln. Carolyn
was secretary at Lincoln Community High School;
Country Companies for 20 years and then worked in
the corporate office of Myers Industries Inc. |
She also collected sheet music and played the piano.
She belonged to Lincoln Women’s Club, FUMC choir for
many years, and several card clubs. Her biggest joy
was her grandchildren and she attended all of their
activities. She enjoyed watching all types of sports
on T.V.
Memorial service for Carolyn will be 7:00 p.m.
Friday March 25, 2016 at First United Methodist
church of Lincoln, with Rev. Michael Paulson
officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. prior
to the service also at the church. In Lieu of
flowers memorials may be given in Carolyn’s name to
Memorial Home Health Services or to the First United
Methodist Church of Lincoln. Services are entrusted
to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
