Obituary
LINCOLN - Jean Tubbs, 87, of Lincoln passed away at
1:10 p.m. April 25, 2016 at her home with her loving
family by her side.
Jean was born May 24, 1928 in East Haven, CT the
daughter of George Albert and Elizabeth Bradley
Monroe. She married Robert Tubbs December 18, 1948
in Plattsburg, NY. He survives in Lincoln.
Also surviving Jean, are her three sons: Richard
(Shari Piekarski) Tubbs of Coralville, IA; Mark (Aren
Ginsberg) Tubbs of St. Louis, MO; William (Jennifer
Johnson) Tubbs of Springfield; one sister: Dorothy
Wind of Englewood, FL; one granddaughter: Audrey
Ling Tubbs and four nieces and one nephew. She was
preceded in death by her parents.

Jean was a teacher at Lincoln Elementary Schools for
20 years; she was a member of the United Methodist
Church Women’s Club; and the Illinois Teacher’s
Organization, Elk‘s Club, and JW PEO Sisterhood. She
loved reading, bridge, and golf.
Private family services will be held at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. There
will be no visitation. Burial will be in New Union
Cemetery, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers memorials may
be given in Jean’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s
Research or Logan County Special Olympics, or
donor’s choice.
