[May 03, 2016]  May 2 (The Sports Xchange) - Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison confirmed Monday he plans to return for the 2016 season.

Harrison posted a photo on Instagram with a message that read "I'M BACK" in bold.

Harrison compiled five sacks and 40 tackles in 15 games (one start) last season as a rotational pass rusher. He has 76.5 career sacks.

Marshawn Lynch is committed to retirement, and the Seattle Seahawks are equally dedicated to keeping incoming players out of his No. 24 jersey.

As a sign of respect, Seahawks general manager John Schneider said that he promised Lynch the No. 24 would not be used in 2016.

Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, who slipped to No. 13 after a video surfaced on social media right before the NFL Draft got underway, is not expected to begin his pro career under the league's substance-abuse program.

A source told ESPN that the rookie is expected to get a clean slate from the NFL but the league will closely monitor and support Tunsil in the event intervention is needed.

A number teams made decisions on whether to exercise the fifth-year option on players drafted in 2013:

The Detroit Lions exercised the fifth-year option on defensive end Ezekiel Ansah.

Offensive lineman Eric Fisher, the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, had his fifth-year option picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Los Angeles Rams exercised the fifth-year options on wide receiver Tavon Austin and linebacker Alec Ogletree for the 2017 season.

The Minnesota Vikings passed on picking up the fifth-year option on wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson but did pick up the options for their other two first-round picks in 2013, cornerback Xavier Rhodes and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd. Floyd was the 23rd overall pick in the 2013 draft and Rhodes was selected 25th overall.

The San Francisco 49ers exercised the fifth-year option on safety Eric Reid for the 2017 season. The 49ers originally selected Reid with the 18th overall pick in 2013.

Offensive tackle Luke Joeckel was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he has not lived up to expectations, and the Jaguars will decline to exercise their fifth-year option on Joeckel, multiple media outlets reported.

The Cleveland Browns have decided not to pick up the fifth-year contract option on linebacker Barkevious Mingo, multiple media outlets reported.

The Tennessee Titans announced that they will not pick up the fifth-year option for right guard Chance Warmack, who was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

The New England Patriots have decided not to pick up the fifth-year option on guard Jonathan Cooper, NFL.com reported.

The Oakland Raiders will not exercise the fifth-year option on defensive back DJ Hayden, according to multiple reports. Hayden has underperformed since being the 12th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

The Denver Broncos declined to exercise the fifth-year option on defensive tackle Sylvester Williams, the 28th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

The Buffalo Bills officially announced the signing of fullback Glenn Gronkowski, the young brother of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski who went undrafted over the weekend.
