 Over 140 graduates and their families will fill the LCU Auditorium
in a tradition that celebrates LCU’s 71st Commencement. Graduates
have earned degrees in 35 career and ministry fields that span
academic levels from certificates, associate and bachelor’s degrees
to master’s and doctoral degrees.
The keynote speaker for both ceremonies will be Dr. Alicia D.
Crumpton, Director of the PhD in Leadership Studies program at
Johnson University and adjunct professor in LCU’s MA in
Organizational Leadership program. Crumpton has traveled nationally
and internationally, speaking about leadership and connecting with
others about Christian higher education.
LCU holds just one Commencement each year, and allows students who
graduated the previous August and December to participate if they
wish. The total number of students completing their degrees at LCU
during the 2015-2016 academic year is 247. While some students
choose to graduate in absentia, others come from far away. This year
graduates are traveling from Nevada, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan,
Missouri, Colorado, South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kansas, Texas,
Pennsylvania, Florida, and the countries of Nigeria, Columbia, West
Africa, and China.
