May 9 (The Sports Xchange) -
Colorado Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes, currently on paid leave as Major
League Baseball reviews his offseason domestic violence arrest, could be
facing at least a 60-game suspension.

According MLB Network's Jon Heyman, Reyes' suspension will be at
least 60 games and that 80 games "may be a fair ballpark estimate,"
per his sources.
Domestic-violence charges against Reyes were dropped a month ago in
Hawaii, but commissioner Rob Manfred has yet to announce whether
Reyes will face any punishment from MLB.
The charges initially brought against Reyes stem from an incident
Oct. 31 involving his wife in Maui. The judge dismissed the charges
after Reyes' wife declined to cooperate with the investigation.
Manfred placed Reyes on paid administrative leave on Feb. 23 under
baseball's new domestic-violence policy before the four-time
All-Star was scheduled to report for spring training. If Reyes does
receive a suspension without pay, he can use the games he has missed
so far this season against whatever penalty Manfred hands down.

The New York Yankees activated relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman after
Chapman was reinstated by Major League Baseball from the Restricted
List.
Chapman was the first player disciplined under MLB's new domestic
violence policy and has served a 30-game suspension.
The four-time All-Star said he has moved beyond the incident that
led to his suspension and reiterated he did not do anything wrong.

Atlanta acquired catcher Anthony Recker from the Cleveland Indians
in exchange for cash considerations.
Recker, 32, was hitting .246 with two home runs in 19 games for
Triple-A Columbus. He was assigned to Triple-A Gwinnett. Recker
has played five seasons in the major leagues, with the New York
Mets, Chicago Cubs and Oakland A's.

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper, who tied a
major-league record with six walks Sunday, entered Monday with an
on-base average of .432 with 30 walks.
Harper began Monday with 12 plate appearances in a row without an
official at-bat, with 10 walks, one hit by pitch and one sacrifice
fly to set a major-league record.
In his first at-bat against Anibal Sanchez, Harper's streak ended
when he ground out to Sanchez.

Houston Astros right-hander Lance McCullers traveled to Houston for
a scheduled bullpen session.
McCullers made his first rehab start last Saturday, hurling five
shutout innings with seven strikeouts for Triple-A Fresno.
He had been complaining of stiffness in his right shoulder.
If McCullers completes his bullpen without suffering a setback, he
likely will pitch for the Astros during their upcoming road trip
through Boston and Chicago. (Editing by Steve Keating.)
