[May 11, 2016]  MOUNT PULASKI - Samuel D. Montgomery, 64, of Lincoln formerly of Mount Pulaski, passed away at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.

Visitation: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday May 13, 2016, Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski.

Service: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 14, 2016 at the funeral home

Obituary

Samuel D. Montgomery, 64, of Lincoln formerly of Mount Pulaski, passed away at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.

Sam was born on January 29, 1952 in Lincoln. The son of D.J. and Grace (Rednour) Montgomery.

Sam is survived by his children John (Bonnie) Montgomery, Brande (Patrick McCree) Montgomery; his two granddaughters, Grace and Abbi; and several nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Kathryn Volle; and his brother, Donald Montgomery.

Sam Retired as a Captain for the Illinois Department of Corrections. After retirement he worked for Insurance Auto Auctions. Sam had a passion for all things automotive; whether it was NASCAR, or antique classic cars. He was also a member of the Railsplitter Antique Auto Club. Sam was also a huge fan of music.

Services for Sam will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 14, 2016 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday May 13, 2016 also at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Sam’s name to his family.
