Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor: Last night's vote (Tuesday, Feb.16) against adding
Norm Clark's name to the airport as a fitting Memorial was a
disgrace. The public was by far in favor of this. Close to a
thousand signatures were easily collected as well as many, people
volunteering their valuable time working on it and showing up for
several County Board meetings.
[to top of second column in this letter] |
It was clear to me from the onset that the 3 men against this
would prevail against the hundreds and hundreds that were
overwhelmingly in favor of this fitting Memorial. The county board
acquiesced to the will of the very, very few and said a big NO to a
wonderful idea. Thank you to the board members who voted yes!
