The right-handed Gray has been experiencing pain in his shoulder
and neck. He doesn't expect to be sidelined longer than 15 days.
Gray, 26, has lost four consecutive decisions and he has a 10.38 ERA
over his past five starts. He lasted less than four innings in three
of those outings.
Overall, Gray is 3-5 with a 6.19 ERA. He posted a 2.73 ERA last
season when he won 14 games for the second consecutive season.
The Athletics recalled left-hander Daniel Coulombe from Triple-A
Nashville to fill the roster opening.

The Seattle Mariners placed infielder Ketel Marte on the 15-day
disabled list.
Marte, 22, left Saturday's game at Cincinnati in the bottom on the
fifth inning after spraining his left thumb sliding into second base
on a stolen base in the top of the fifth inning.
In 40 games this season, Marte is hitting .276 with nine doubles,
two triples, one home run and 31 RBIs.
The Mariners also recalled infielder Chris Taylor from Triple-A
Tacoma.

The Cleveland Indians recalled right-hander Austin Adams from
Triple-A Columbus.
Adams, 29, has spent the entire 2016 season with Columbus, posting a
record of 2-1 with four saves and a 1.10 ERA over 16 1/3 innings in
14 relief outings.
The Indians also optioned left-hander Kyle Crockett to Columbus. In
11 games, he had a 14.73 ERA over 3 2/3 innings.

Boston Red Sox left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez, who hasn't pitched in
the major leagues this year because of a knee injury, will wear a
new brace when he makes his next rehab start for Triple-A Pawtucket
on Tuesday night.

St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Jhonny Peralta (left thumb) continued
his rehab assignment Saturday night at Class A Peoria, playing third
base and going 0-for-2.

Texas Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish was scheduled to make his
fifth and final rehab start with Double-A Frisco and, barring any
setbacks, will rejoin the Texas rotation on Saturday against the
Pittsburgh Pirates.
Darvish last pitched for the Rangers in Aug. 9, 2014, and underwent
Tommy John surgery on March 17, 2015.

The Minnesota Twins announced that left-hander Glen Perkins has
suffered a setback in his efforts to return from a left shoulder
strain.
Perkins, who will take a week off from throwing, was placed on the
