North Kickapoo Street Celebrates New Business with Route 66 Block Party Saturday

[November 03, 2016]  LINCOLN - After a quiet summer on the block, the businesses of 100 North Kickapoo are ready to liven up their corner of downtown this fall. Prairie Years, Abe’s Carmelcorn and the newly opened Sir Renna Tea have partnered together to bring the Route 66 Block Party to their street on Saturday, November 5th. Prairie Years Assistant Manager, Kathy Schmidt said “It is great to see a new business on the block. The 100 block of Kickapoo has a lot of great things to offer our community, what a better way to say ‘welcome’ than with a party!”

Prairie Years has undergone their own transformation this fall. With updated signage, the addition of fair trade items, classic toys and Lincoln memorabilia, they are offering a wider variety of the most requested items to shoppers.

Abe’s Carmelcorn has also joined the celebration and is excited to participate. In partnership with Brady Realty, they will be offering a 10% coupon off any purchase. 10% of all coupon purchases will be donated to “Central Bark Dog Park”. Doggie Treat bags & Human Treat bags will be given to the first 100 participants.

November 5th from 10am to 2pm the 100 block “Route 66 Block Party” will also include:

  • Drawings: Each store (3) will have a drawing for a free gift inside their store
  • Grand Prize gift basket sponsored by all 3 stores
  • Hand painted Christmas ornaments by local artist Michelle Schneider
  • Howliday Pet Photos: Nostalgic Antique Truck with a Traditional Christmas Setting
  • Integrity Data will have a drawing for 2 wreaths from Three Roses
  • Life sized kids games
  • Music by Deuxieme
  • Route 66 gifts
  • And more!
