 "I’ve always liked kids and working with kids,” said Stoll, who
didn’t see the honor coming. "I was surprised. I was like, “Oh,
that’s exciting.” Stoll has no idea who nominated her from within
the school district, but in the nomination letter that person wrote,
“Cindy comes to work everyday with a positive attitude. She truly
cares for each and every one of the students she works with, and
rarely gets frustrated. She has been dedicated to this school
district and community her entire life. Her workday begins well
before the start of the school day and ends long after. She is one
of the hardest working individuals I have ever met and is deserving
of recognition.”
Stoll, who did not go to college, has seen things change in
education over the years. "When I was hired you did not have to have
college credits to be a teaching assistant, that has been changed.
Now you either have to have two years of college, education-related,
or you’ve had to have taken the paraprofessional testing to qualify
and get the license.” Stoll is a licensed paraprofessional.
These days at MPHS, Stoll is busy each and every hour of the day.
She floats around from classroom to classroom helping students.
Stoll explains her duties, "I take notes for the kids who cannot get
the notes their-selves. Then we make copies of my notes an1d give to
them to use. I do a lot of reading to the kids. When it comes test
time I read the test to the kids a lot, not always and not all kids
need that support, but the ones that do, I do that.” Stoll keeps
busy throughout the day with two Ag classes, two Industrial Arts
classes, a World Geography class, a Life Science class and an
Algebra class. She also squeezes in a study hall during the day.

Without a doubt, the school district is very fortunate to have
Stoll. Surprisingly, she didn’t always live in Central Illinois,
though. As a child, her parents, Marty and Lavaughn Clementz, lived
in West Chicago in Dupage County. The family moved to rural Chestnut
when Stoll was 14 years old. She has been a resident of Chestnut
ever since, marrying local farmer David Stoll. The two have been
married 40 years and have two sons, Michael and Matthew. Matthew is
married to Jennifer and they have two children, Madison and Wyatt.
In addition to always enjoying her family, Stoll enjoys flower
gardening, sewing and cooking.
As far as her career, she does not hesitate to say, “I love my job.
