Smith, who will turn 31 next month, signed a $1.5 million
deal to play for the defending Chinese Basketball Association
champion Sichuan Whales for the next three months, according to
international basketball reporter David Pick. He hopes to catch
on with an NBA team after his contract in China expires.

Indiana Pacers star forward Paul George was fined $15,000 by the
NBA on Tuesday for kicking a ball into the stands and hitting a
woman in the face with it during Saturday's game against the
Chicago Bulls.
George was ejected from the contest -- the first of his career
-- for the soft kick that hit Lindsey Yeager, a Pacers employee
working with the Fox Sports Indiana television crew.

New York Knicks president Phil Jackson hasn't been pleased with
the Knicks' offense through their first six games, especially
the absence of the triangle offense that led Jackson to a record
11 NBA championships, according to an ESPN report.
Jackson is not happy with the way new head coach Jeff Hornacek
has opted to speed up the game instead of relying on the
triangle, which ESPN reports the Knicks have seldom used early
