Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will work with the scout team
again this week as he continues his recovery from a compression
fracture in his back sustained in the preseason.
Coach Jason Garrett said the Cowboys will look at how Romo practices
before deciding whether the veteran would be active Sunday at the
Pittsburgh Steelers.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick addressed the letter he
wrote to President-elect Donald Trump ahead of Tuesday's election,
saying it was "not politically motivated."
"I've received a number of inquiries relative to a note I wrote to
Donald on Monday," Belichick said. "Our friendship goes back many
years. And I think anybody that spends more than five minutes with
me knows I'm not a political person. My comments are not politically
motivated. It's friendship and loyalty to Donald."

The New York Jets placed former Pro Bowl left tackle Ryan Clady on
injured reserve Wednesday with a torn rotator cuff.
The team also activated former second-round wide receiver Devin
Smith from the physically unable to perform list, waived defensive
end Jarvis Jenkins and signed defensive lineman Anthony Johnson from
the New England Patriots' practice squad.

The New York Giants placed safety Darian Thompson on injured reserve
after the rookie missed the past six games with a sprained foot.

The team announced that Thompson, who was taken in the third round
of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Boise State, will undergo surgery and
miss the remainder of the season.

The New Orleans Saints made a series of roster moves in hopes of
adding experience and depth to their special teams.
The team signed linebacker Sam Barrington and safety Shiloh Keo and
were awarded tight end John Phillips off of waivers from the Denver
Broncos.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was named NFC Offensive Player
of the Week after his four-touchdown passing performance in Week 9.
San Diego Chargers running back Melvin Gordon took the AFC offensive
honor for his effort in the 43-35 win over the Tennessee Titans on
Sunday. Gordon ran 32 times for 196 yards and a touchdown, and
caught four passes for 65 yards, giving him 261 yards from
