MIAMI -- Dwyane Wade, playing his first game as a visitor at
AmericanAirlines Arena was held to 13 points but made two free
throws with 13 seconds left as his Chicago Bulls prevailed in a
98-95 win over the Miami Heat on Thursday night.
Jimmy Butler had 20 points and Robin Lopez and Rajon Rondo added 16
points each as the Bulls (5-4) held off the Heat (2-5). Butler had
39 points on Wednesday in a loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
Hassan Whiteside led Miami with 20 points and 20 rebounds. It was
his sixth double-double in seven games this season.
Heat point guard Goran Dragic injured his left ankle in the third
quarter when he came down on the foot of Chicago forward Doug
McDermott. Dragic did not return and finished with six points and
four assists in 22 minutes.
Wade, the 6-4 shooting guard, 12-time NBA All-Star and three-time
NBA champion, had played his entire pro career with the Heat before
bolting as free agent this past July.
Pelicans 112, Bucks 106
MILWAUKEE -- Anthony Davis scored 30 points as New Orleans won for
the first time this season, beating Milwaukee at the Bradley Center.
Davis hit 12 of 25 shots and went 8-for-8 from the free throw line
while also grabbing eight rebounds. He scored 12 of his points in
the fourth quarter and the Pelicans went 9-for-25 on 3-point
attempts while shooting 43.8 percent from the field.
The Pelicans dropped their first eight games of the campaign.
Warriors 125, Nuggets 101
DENVER -- Stephen Curry hit seven 3-pointers on his way to 33
points, and Golden State went up big early and coasted to a win over
Denver.
Curry finished with seven assists and five rebounds in just 30
minutes. Klay Thompson scored 19 points and Kevin Durant had 16 for
the Warriors.

Rookie Jamal
Murray had 14 points to lead the Nuggets, who were coming off a
five-game road trip and playing just their second home game in the
first three weeks of the season. They had eight turnovers in the
first quarter, leading to 15 points for Golden State. The Warriors
shot 59 percent in the first period and 54.1 for the game.
Lakers 101, Kings 91
SACRAMENTO -- Nick Young, D'Angelo Russell and Lou Williams put a
second-half hurting on Sacramento, and Los Angeles added another
feather to its impressive start.
Young scored 13 of his 16 points after halftime, while Russell and
Williams combined for 20 in the final 24 minutes, and the Lakers
overcame a 19-point deficit in a victory over the Kings at Golden 1
Center.
Los Angeles (5-4), coming off the worst three seasons in franchise
history and not expected to make a huge leap under first-year coach
Luke Walton, made 20 of 37 shots from the field in the final 24
minutes, and methodically took apart Sacramento to win for the
fourth time in five games. The 4-1 stretch marks the first such
spurt for the Lakers since November 2013.
