Nov 11 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of National Hockey League
games on Friday:
Capitals 3, Blackhawks 2 (OT)
Jay Beagle scored twice and Marcus Johansson scored in overtime as
the Washington Capitals snapped the Chicago Blackhawks' seven-game
winning streak with a 3-2 victory.
Johansson's game-winner sailed over the shoulder of Corey Crawford
after Marian Hossa forced overtime with a goal with 22 seconds
remaining in regulation and with the Blackhawks skating with a
one-man advantage.
Hossa tapped in an Artemi Panarin shot, which slid through the legs
of Capitals defenseman John Carlson and found its way onto Hossa's
stick.
Braden Holtby made 32 saves and made Beagle's two first-period goals
stand up for Washington.
Devils 2, Sabres 1 (OT)
Andy Greene scored on a penalty shot 29 seconds into overtime to
lead the New Jersey Devils to a 2-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
The penalty shot came after Greene was obstructed by Sabres left
winger Evander Kane on a partial breakaway. Green skated to his
right before cutting inside and firing a wrist shot that went
through Buffalo goaltender Anders Nilsson's legs.
Yohann Auvitu scored in regulation for New Jersey, while Keith
Kinkaid made 25 saves.
Matt Moulson scored in regulation for Buffalo. Anders Nilsson made
41 saves.
Maple Leafs 6, Flyers 3
The Toronto Maple Leafs came back with four straight goals in the
third period to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers.
Zach Hyman gave Toronto the lead before Leo Komarov added an
unassisted short-handed goal at 11:32 of the third period to give
Toronto a two-goal lead and Mitch Marner scored on a power play late
in the game.
Nazem Kadri, Morgan Rielly and Martin Marincin also scored for the
Maple Leafs.
Wayne Simmonds scored twice and Travis Konecny also scored for the
Flyers.
Senators 2, Kings 1
The Ottawa Senators scored twice in the final 3:54 to defeat the Los
Angeles Kings.
Winger Mark Stone notched the winner with just 6.5 seconds left on
the clock, banging in a rebound after defenseman Erik Karlsson's
point shot was stopped by goalie Peter Budaj.

Goalie Craig
Anderson stopped 32 shots to pick up his seventh win of the season.
Kings goalie Jeff Zatkoff played the first two periods, stopping all
18 shots he faced before being replaced by Budaj to begin the third
period. Budaj stopped 13 shots.
Stars 3, Oilers 2
Antoine Roussel scored the game winner as the Dallas Stars emerged
with a 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.
Lauri Korpikoski and Patrick Eaves got the other goals for the
Stars, while Patrick Maroon and Tyler Pitlick scored in response for
the Oilers.
Avalanche 3, Jets 2 (OT)
Rene Bourque was credited with his second goal after Nikolaj Ehlers
shot the puck into his own net 1:23 into overtime, lifting the
Colorado Avalanche to a 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets.
The Avalanche controlled the puck for much of overtime, but it was
the Jets who beat themselves. Ehlers had the puck along the boards
and backhanded it toward his own net and between the legs of
goaltender Michael Hutchinson.
Bourque got credit for the goal because he was the last Colorado
player to touch the puck.
Mikko Rantanen scored his first NHL goal and Semyon Varlamov stopped
16 shots for Colorado.
