							Obituary 
							 
							Ray L. Virden, 80, of Latham passed away at 9:10 
							a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Decatur 
							Memorial Hospital, Decatur. 
							 
							Ray was born on June 1, 1936 in Fayette County, the 
							son of Ralph and Verna (Leigh) Virden. He married 
							Roberta Speer on December 4, 1955 in Bingham, she 
							survives him in Latham. 
							 
							Ray is also survived by his daughter, Rae Ann Virden 
							of Latham; his brother, Dennis (Iris) Viden of 
							Ramsey, his sisters, Faye (Ralph) Roberts of 
							Decatur, and Patricia O’Dell of Ramsey and his 
							grandson, Ryan (Samantha) Virden of Latham. 
							 
							Ray has been preceded in death by his parents, and 
							his twin brother, Rex. 
							 
							Ray worked for Staleys for 38 years; and worked part 
							time for several farmers in the area after his 
							retirement. Ray was a member of Bingham Baptist 
							Church, but he attended Grace Baptist Church. Ray 
							was also a frequent guest of the Corner Café in 
							Latham.  | 
							
							 
                    
					  
							Services for Ray will be held at 11:00 a.m. on 
							Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski 
							with Pastor Martin Coon and Pastor Mark Morgan 
							officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 
							p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the funeral 
							home, also one hour prior to services on Wednesday. 
							Burial will take place after the services at Lake 
							Bank Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.  
							 
							Memorial donations may be made in Ray’s name to 
							Grace Baptist Church or Latham Fire Dept.
