Obituary
A celebration of life service will be held for James
Wesley Atteberry on Saturday, November 19, 2016,
from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at St. John United
Church of Christ in Lincoln, Illinois. Memorial
service to follow beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Jim, formerly of Beason, died Sunday, October 9,
2016, in Tucson, Arizona from complications related
to bile duct cancer.
He was born February 9, 1953, to Harlan and Verna
Voyles Atteberry at St. Clara's Hospital in Lincoln
and was baptized at Beason United Methodist Church.
He graduated from Beason High School in 1971 and
Eastern Illinois University in 1975 with a
Bachelor's degree in Sociology. Jim worked in long
term care facilities in Denver, Colorado and later
in Tucson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Verna Voyles
Atteberry; his maternal grandparents, Linus and Lena
Griffin Voyles; and paternal grandparents, Orville
and Edith Reising Atteberry.
He is survived by his spouse, Bradley Rosel of
Tucson; stepson Ryan Rosel of Littleton, Colo.;
father, Harlan Atteberry; brothers Gary (Judy) and
Darren, all of Lincoln; sister, Dena (Dan) Sale of
Chatham; nieces and nephews Katelyn and Kyle
Atteberry and Madeline and Evan Sale; and many other
relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Beason Fire Department
or Beason United Methodist Church. |
