Springfield Lutheran held an 18-17 advantage after the first
quarter but then it was Hartem’s turn to lead 30-24 at the half.
Springfield scored 26 points in the third quarter and that allowed
the Crusaders to have a 50-42 lead over the Stags going into the
final eight minutes of play.
The difference maker in this game being the Stags charging back and
outscoring the Crusaders 18-9 in the fourth quarter.
Hartem picks up their second win of the season by a score of 60-59.
It was Alec Hayes leading the way for the Stags with 24 points.
Brady Wolpert scored 12 points and Antonio Coit-Kirk dropped in 10
points for Hartem.
Following the game, Hartem Head Coach Jason Garber said, "It is
never easy to win on the road no matter which league you play in. I
thought our guys showed a lot of composure and grit in a close game
down the stretch. We have had two close games already this season
and I think the experience in those two games helped us in the final
two minutes of this game. We will have another tough game on the
road Saturday as we travel to Warrensburg-Latham.”
