As a part of the National Solar Tour, over 100 solar-savvy home
and business owners throughout the state will open their doors to
show off their solar! This FREE open house type event allows
attendees to view real-life examples of how their neighbors are
harnessing the sun’s energy to generate power, heat, and slash
monthly utility bills. This self-guided tour has attracted more
than a thousand people across Illinois in recent years. The tour
affords participants a direct perspective on the costs, processes,
as well as the economic and environmental benefits of going solar.
You have the opportunity to visit a solar installation in your
neighborhood! The village of Middletown will be a part of the
Illinois Solar Tour, showcasing solar installations at the school,
located at 75 1250th Street.
The Illinois Solar Tour host sites will be open on Saturday October
1st from 10am to 3pm, and it is FREE and open to the public. Visit
the Tour’s website to find other sites to explore near you
