Looking for Lincoln to host free Volunteer recruitment and management training workshop

[September 30, 2016]  SPRINGFIELD - Looking for Lincoln is hosting a free training workshop entitled "Building and Sustaining a Successful Volunteer Program." The workshop will address building a volunteer program, recruiting and retaining volunteers and best practices in volunteer management.

The training workshop will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 9:30 to 4:30 pm at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in the Multi-Purpose Room on the second floor. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library is located at 112 N 6th Street in Springfield.

Training Description:

Jeremy Carrell, Volunteer Coordinator at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum will be the keynote speaker for the training addressing how to build and strengthen a volunteer program. Topics to be discussed include:

  • Building & Strengthening a Volunteer Program
  • Tips & Strategies for Volunteer Recruitment & Retention
  • Volunteer Management

The training workshop will also include panel discussions featuring Terry Jones, the Volunteer Coordinator at New Salem State Park as well as volunteers from various historic sites and museums.

The workshop is designed for individuals who work with volunteers, manage volunteer programs, or individuals interested in starting or strengthening a volunteer program at their organization or historic site.

The training workshop is free and the cost for lunch is $8.
