Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman, a four-time NFL All-Pro
selection, will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn
Achilles tendon, the team announced Monday.
Bowman was injured during Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and
tests immediately after the injury occurred suggested it could be
season-ending. Further tests Monday confirmed the diagnosis, putting
him out for the entire 2016 season.

A Baltimore Ravens fan remains in critical condition after suffering
a head injury during an altercation Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium with
two Oakland Raiders fans, who were charged with assault.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon will remain on the NFL's
reserve/suspended list until further notice.
Gordon was scheduled to rejoin practice on Monday and play Oct. 9
against the New England Patriots in his first game since 2014, but
he checked into an in-patient rehabilitation facility last week and
put his career on hold.

The Browns released linebacker Armonty Bryant on the same day his
four-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs ended.
Bryant was due to rejoin the team Monday and was eligible to play
Sunday against the New England Patriots.

The Tennessee Titans fired special teams coordinator Bobby April one
day after the team allowed a 67-yard punt return for the winning
touchdown in a 27-20 loss to the Houston Texans.
Titans head coach Mike Mularkey also announced that April would be
replaced by special teams assistant Steve Hoffman.

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham was reportedly arrested
over the weekend on a misdemeanor concealed weapons charge at an
airport in Miami.

According a TMZ Sports report, Bradham was arrested Sunday for
bringing a loaded gun into Miami International Airport. The gun was
in his backpack when he sent it through the X-ray machine at
security, where TSA workers discovered it. TMZ reported that Bradham
said he forgot the gun was in his bag and then showed TSA his
concealed-carry permit.
Bradham was taken into custody and booked for a second-degree
misdemeanor concealed weapons charge, according to the report. He
was released from custody later that day on a $500 bond.

The Miami Dolphins signed tight end Dominique Jones to address the
team's shortage at the position.
Jones spent the 2016 training camp with the Dolphins before he was
waived on Sept. 3. He originally joined Miami as a free agent on
Jan. 19 and also had a brief stint on the team's practice squad in
2012.

New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings is expected to miss his
second straight game with a thumb injury.
ESPN reported that Jennings, officially listed as questionable, will
not play on "Monday Night Football" against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Arizona Cardinals signed linebacker Cap Capi to their practice
squad.
Capi takes the place of linebacker Cam Johnson, who was signed to
the active roster of the Cleveland Browns on Saturday.

The Detroit Lions signed running back Mike James to their practice
squad and released running back George Winn in a corresponding move.
