Obituary
Betty Johnette Cave, 87 of Lincoln passed away on
Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Memorial Medical
Center in Springfield.
Betty was born on October 4, 1928 in Mt Vernon, the
daughter of John P and Martha Barker Cave.
She is survived by her brother, James W (Linda
Reeves) Cave of Georgia; niece, Jennifer Reeves Cave
and nephews, Jason (Tara) Cave and Jonathan Cave.
She is also survived by friends and relatives in Mt
Vernon, Lincoln and Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister,
Patricia Ann Ladley of Springfield.
Betty graduated from Opdyke Community High School in
1946 and Lincoln College in 1968. She lived and
worked in Chicago until the late 1980’s when she
returned to Lincoln to care for her mother. She sold
real estate at Werth REALTORS for 10 years and was
part of the Foster Grandparent program as long as
health allowed.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, October
3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Opdyke Cemetary in
Opdyke, with Rev. Gary Davenport officiating.
