WLB Lady Wolverines week three recap
6th grade team wins Mount Pulaski Tournament

[October 10, 2016]  After a week off the Lady Wolverines were back on the court this week, and they came out rested and ready to play.

Game #1 of the week the Lady Wolverines faced Heyworth for their season opener. Both teams came away with big victories. The 7th grade team won by a score of 40-8 as the 8th grade team followed suit and won by a margin of 45-5.

Game #2 of the week the Lady Wolverines were at home against cross-town rival the CEL Panthers. The Lady Wolverines walked away that night with two more victories as the 7th grade team won by a score of 52-10, and the 8th grade team won 64-2.

Game #3 the Lady Wolverines faced off with another hometown team the CCS/ZLS/NHM Crusaders. The Lady Wolverines worked extremely hard and brought home two more victories for WLB. The 7th grade team won by a score of 71-8 as the 8th grade team was victorious with a score of 58-5. With these wins, the 7th grade record now stands at 9-0 and the 8th grade team is 8-1.

The 7th and 8th grade teams will be back in play at home on Tuesday evening 5:00 vs. Christ the King.

The 6th grade team continued the busy week and competed in the Mount Pulaski 6th Grade Tournament. The Lady Wolverines were hoping to defend their title as they were the 2015 6th grade tournament champions as well. Their first game was against the Williamsville BeeBees. The Lady Wolverines coasted to a 54-1 victory.

Kloe Froebe led all scorers with 23 as Becca Heitzig added 12. Also scoring were Elly Martinez with 7, Jenna Bowman-6, Tori Geriets-4 and Jane Turner-2.

The Lady Wolverines then faced a tough Athens team. Even though the team started off a bit sluggish, they fired back and won by a score of 49-20.

Kloe Froebe led all scorers with 26 points as Elly Martinez added 8. Also scoring was Becca Heitzig with 6, Jenna Bowman with 4, Tori Geriets with 3 and Alison Turner with -2.

This win sealed the deal and put the Lady Wolverines into the Championship game against the Mount Pulaski Honeybears. It was a great game as both teams played very tough.

The Lady Wolverines came out on top and brought home the championship by a score of 47-34. Kloe Froebe once again led all scorers with 39 points and Elly Martinez added 8.
