							Obituary 
							Paul D. Givens , 76, of Lincoln passed away on 
							Friday, October 7, 2016 at 2:06 a.m. at the Abraham 
							Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
 Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 
							11, 2016 at 10:30 a. m. at the Jefferson Street 
							Christian Church in Lincoln with Mr. Henry Johnson 
							officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion 
							Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by 
							American Legion Post 263.
 
 Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 
							p.m. on Monday, October 10, at the Jefferson Street 
							Christian Church.
 
 Paul Dean Givens was born on December 31, 1939 in 
							Lincoln, the son of Cecil C. and Virgie M. Cummings 
							Givens. He was united in marriage to Gloria Sprague 
							on February 16, 1974 in Lincoln. She survives.
 
 Also surviving are his children: Donna Givens, 
							Rebecca (Kemper) Morse, Chad (Amy Barnhart) Lohrenz, 
							Keith (Crystal) Millett, and Bill (Debbie) Millett; 
							three grandchildren: Samantha Cheek, Connor Givens, 
							and Corbin Lohrenz; one sister: Brenda (Jim) 
							Hostetter; and two brothers: Donald Givens and David 
							Givens, his faithful and loving companion Snickers.
 
 Paul was preceded in death by one infant sister: 
							Martha Francis Givens, and his parents.

							Paul graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 
							1958. He then served in the United States Navy from 
							1958 until 1964. 
            He was employed at Lehn and Fink. He retired from the State of 
			Illinois Department of Corrections as a of Chief Engineer .
 He was a member of Lincoln American Legion Post #263 and the Gold 
			Wing Club.
 
 Paul was an avid Motorcyclist , Snowmobiler, Fisherman and Golfer. 
			He really enjoyed and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
 
 Memorials may be made to the Human Society of Logan County or the 
			Food Pantry at Jefferson Street Christian Church or the Wounded 
			Warrior Project.
 
 Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of 
			Lincoln.
