Obituary
After battling cancer for six months, Joyce Ann
Rasmussen went to be with her babies and family in
heaven on October 5, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home in Atlanta at 11:00 a.m. on Monday,
October 10, 2016. Burial will follow in the Atlanta
Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on
Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the
service.
Joyce Ann Rasmussen, daughter of Eldoris and Mary
Greathouse Cremeens, was born May 30, 1952 in
Illinois. Joyce grew up in Illinois and she
graduated from high school in 1970. Joyce was a stay
at home mom and she raised her children until 1986
when she furthered her education as a Certified
Nursing Aide and she worked as an aide. In 1987, she
met Chris Rasmussen and they married in June of
1991. They lived in Minier, moving on occasion;
until moving to Blockton, Iowa, 20 years ago. She
enjoyed life in Blockton watching grandchildren,
enjoying life, family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband
Chris Rasmussen of Blockton, IA; two daughters:
Susan Howe of Blockton, IA and Amy Howe of Atlanta;
Jessica Rasmussen, Kristina Rasmussen, and Katie
Rasmussen; grandchildren Kayla Howe, Miranda
(Charles) Maxson, Libby Rasmussen, Gerad Naill, and
Genna Naill; great-grandchildren Emmett and Ezra;
one brother, Dennis (Judy) Cremeens of Deer Creek;
two sisters: Eldora Coggins of Fairbury and Sandra
(Wally) Shawgo of Mackinaw; nieces, nephews, and
other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dory and Mary Cremeens;
two children Angela & Jason Howe; sister Marilyn Morgan and her
husband Donald; and brother-in-law Leslie Coggins;
Joyce liked going to the casino now and then, and taking a drive
around town. She enjoyed cooking and reading recipe books. Her
love of family included sharing Halloween with them, watching
Christmas movies, and Facebook communicating with everyone.
Joyce enjoyed taking her dog for walks with her scooter; tending
to her flower gardens, and working with older people. Joyce
loved family get-togethers and visiting with friends and family.
A memorial fund has been established in her name to be decided
later.
Local arrangements have been entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
