							Melody A. “Ma” Reed, 61, of Illiopolis passed away 
							peacefully surrounded by her family at 3:54 a.m. on 
							Wednesday October 5, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in 
							Decatur.
 Melody was born on January 6, 1955 in Lincoln, the 
							daughter of Franklin and Jean (Vandevender) Naylor. 
							She married David B. Reed on December 24, 1986 in 
							Lincoln. He survives in Illiopolis.
 
 Melody is also survived by her mother, Jean Scott of 
							Heber Springs, AR; her children, Stephanie Ann 
							Leesman of Mount Pulaski, Andrew R. (Jamie) Jones of 
							Mount Pulaski, Dillon D. (Tiffany Graham) Reed of 
							Indianapolis, IN, Morgan Leigh Reed of Mount 
							Pulaski; her brother, Franklin D. Naylor of Mount 
							Pulaski; her sisters, Beverly Parker of Heber 
							Springs, AR, Penny Patton of Vienna, Tracy 
							Hutchinson of Heber Springs, AR; and her four 
							grandchildren.
 
 Melody was preceded in death by her father.

							Melody worked for years in the agriculture business. 
							She worked for Welch Agri Business, Mount Pulaski 
							Farmers Grain, Lake Fork Farmers Grain, and Elkhart 
							Farmers Grain. But her true love was to tend bar. 
							She worked in various establishments in Logan, 
							Macon, and Sangamon Counties, most recently at The 
							Brickyard in Mount Pulaski. Melody also enjoyed 
							spending time in her garden and solving crossword 
							puzzles. 
 A memorial gathering for Melody will be held from 
							4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday October 14, 2016 at 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski.
 
 Memorial donations may be made in Melody’s name to 
							her family.
