Obituary
Dale Eugene Johnston, 68, of San Tan Valley, AZ.,
formerly of Lincoln, passed away October 17, 2016,
in Gilbert, AZ.
Services were held October 20, 2016, in Chandler,
AZ.
Dale was born December 25, 1947, in Lincoln, the son
of Cletus and Evelyn (Bailey) Johnston. He married
the love of his life Sarah Bryant on June 14, 1968,
in Lincoln. He was a 1966 graduate of LCHS. Dale was
formerly employed by General Telephone and the
Lincoln Post Office where he served from 1972-1978.
In 1978 he transferred to Scottsdale, AZ where he
continued his postal career. Dale's postal career
started in Viet Nam, where he served as a mail clerk
while serving his country in the United States Army.
He was a member of the American Bowling Congress and
was at one time a certified junior bowling
instructor. He was the first person to bowl a 300
and a 299 at Logan Lanes.
Surviving are his wife Sarah Johnston of San Tan
Valley, AZ, mother Evelyn Johnston of Lincoln, one
very special aunt; Margaret Rogers of Lincoln,
daughters Dawn Day of San Tan Valley, AZ and Wendy
Johnston (Larry Ballenger) of Florence, AZ,
grandchildren: Leann and Patrick "Mikie" Day of San
Tan Valley, AZ, Christopher Johnston also of San Tan
Valley, and Stuart "Stuey", Bridget, and Destry Dale
Ballenger all of Florence, AZ. |
He was preceded in death by his father and one granddaughter.
