Benhart named Mount Pulaski October Senior-of-the-month

MOUNT
PULASKI - T.J. Benhart, son of Jason and Kelley Benhart of Mount
Pulaski, has been named October Senior-of-the-month at Mount Pulaski
High School. He was selected for this honor based on the criteria of
scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

T.J. stays involved at MPHS. For the last four years he has been a
member of the soccer team, scholastic bowl, track, student council,
FCCLA (currently serving as the Chapter President), pep band,
marching band, drama club, Spanish club, and choir club. He has been
a member of NHS, WYSE, and Science Olympiad for two years, and was
on prom Committee for one year.
T.J. had been named Student of the Year in World Geography and
Spanish 3 during his time at MPHS. As a member of the FCCLA
Parliamentary Procedure team, he, along with the team, earned a Gold
medal the last two years at the State Competition and a Gold and
Silver at the National level. Outside of school, T.J. is one step
away from earning Eagle Scout Rank.

T.J. would like to study engineering, focusing on audio technologies.
The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by Johnson True Value Hardware.
Monthly award winners receive a $50 award paid to the college they plan to
attend. They are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award
sponsored by Illinois National Bank.
