[October 26, 2016]    On Wednesday, the Lincoln College Women's Volleyball team traveled to Galesburg, to face the Carl Sandburg Chargers.

Lincoln was without two of their main offensive weapons for this match due to injuries to outside hitter Kenzie Cooper and right side Mattie Giese. LC (21-12) was able to remain competitive, but did not have enough firepower to win the match as they fell in four sets (26-24, 25-19, 12-25, 25-21).

Stat Totals

Kaylyn Hoffert 14 kills
Abbi Buelow 36 set assists
Erin Rankin 11 points, 11 digs
Mikayla Siebert 8 kills
Melanie Murray 19 digs, 6 points
Cassidy Sanneman 7 kills, 3 blocks
Elysa Smith 2 kills, 2 blocks
Tariah Woods 5 kills, 3 blocks
Brighton Robbins 9 digs, 6 points

LC Coach Mark Tippett:  "We hurt ourselves early in the match with missed serves. That was what cost us the first set and got us down in set two. We played much better in sets three and four, but it was too little too late. Sandburg played hard all night and deserved the win. Hopefully, we will be back to full strength tomorrow and will be able to get back to playing the way we are capable of playing."

LC will play their final home match of the season on Thursday evening at 6:00 against Illinois Valley CC. Prior to the match, the team will recognize graduating senior Erin Rankin and sophomores Melanie Murray, Brighton Robbins and Kenzie Cooper.
