Voting is an opportunity for citizens to have a voice in choosing
leaders for our community and country. CAPCIL and LMPT believe that
no one should miss the opportunity to participate in an election
because transportation is inaccessible. Scott Soebbing, General
Manager of Lincoln Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram, stated “We are
fortunate to be able to partner with Community Action for this
program. As it is every American’s right to vote, it is great to
know those in need of transportation will not be left out.”
Both polling places, Lincoln Christian Church and Jefferson Street
Christian Church, will be added to the flex route for the day to
allow individuals the opportunity to vote. An on demand service will
also be available for rides to the polling locations. If individuals
wish to utilize the on demand service they are encouraged to RSVP
their preferred ride time by November 6th, 2016. LMPT will accept
calls for rides to the polls on November 8th, however a specific
time preference might not be available. DiAnne Turner, Director for
LMPT stated, “As part of our mission to provide safe and reliable
transportation that promotes independence, what better way than to
provide transportation so individuals can execute their right to
vote. For individuals with limited access to transportation or that
has mobility limitations, utilizing the LMPT programs allows them
that freedom to stay independent.” For a list of the pickup
locations, individuals can access them online at CAPCIL’s website at

A special thanks to Lincoln Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram and ME
Realty for making the rides to the polls completely free for the
residents of Logan County. Seth Goodman, owner/broker for ME Realty
stated, “It is our duty as Americans to vote for the candidate that
we feel is best fit to lead our country in this election. Even small
communities can make their voices heard – that’s why we at ME Realty
feel that this is a prime chance to team up with LMPT to ensure that
everyone wishing to cast their vote has a chance to do so.” CAPCIL
is excited to offer Roll to the Polls for the Logan County community
and is so appreciative to have so many partnerships who share that
love.
It is the mission of CAPCIL, in partnership with communities in our service
area, to empower persons with low income and the aged by creating and
implementing poverty-fighting initiatives for those in crisis and those that
endeavor a life of lasting independence. LMPT is partially funded by The United
Way of Logan County, Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland, and IDOT. For more
