			PULASKI - Carl S. Patterson, 95, of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 
			11:45 a.m. Wednesday October 19, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital in 
			Springfield. |

							Obituary 
							 
							Carl S. Patterson, 95, of Mount Pulaski, passed away 
							at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday October 19, 2016 at St. 
							John’s Hospital in Springfield.
 Carl was born on December 7, 1920 in Logan County to 
							Stephen S. and Emma Jane Havens Patterson. He 
							married Meredith Irene Robinson on April 18, 1948.
 
 Surviving are his wife Meredith of Mount Pulaski and 
							nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 
							parents, brother Clyde and sister Mildred Mohr.
 
 Carl served in the European Theatre during WWII with 
							the 87th Infantry Division. He participated in three 
							major battles, one being the Battle of the Bulge in 
							Belgium. He received a Presidential Unit Citation 
							for the Rhine Crossing, Combat Infantry Badge, 
							European Battle Ribbon, a Bronze Star with “V” for 
							Valor, the Purple Heart and others.
 
 Carl was a member of the Mt. Pulaski First Christian 
							Church since 1939. He was also a member of DAV Post 
							#15, VFW Post #777, and the Mt. Pulaski American 
							Legion Post #447. Carl retired from the Federal 
							Civil Service in 1970 as a Supply Management 
							Representative for the Army Material Command.

							Services for Carl will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday 
							October 22, 2016 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral 
							Home in Mount Pulaski, with Mark Weber officiating. 
							Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Saturday 
							October 22, 2016 also at the funeral home. Burial at 
							Mount Pulaski Cemetery will follow the service, 
							where full military rites will be accorded by 
							American Legion Post #447. 
 Memorials may be made in Carl’s name to the Mount 
							Pulaski Christian Church.
