Church of Christ in Lincoln is sponsoring a
Christian Carnival on Sunday from 2:30 to
4:30 p.m. The activities will be on the
church's parking lot, at the corner of
Eighth and Maple streets.
 The
public is invited. All ages are welcome to
join in the games, snacks, songs, stories
and more fun -- and win prizes, too -- all
for free.

Club Kick Off will be

It’s back to
school time for our kids! In practice, the goal of our Kids’ Worship
Team is to create worship time with kids that is relevant! We strive
to help kids bring their praise to God and to open up their hearts
and minds to God’s Word so that they can live it INSIDE OUT—24/7!
During the month of September, kids will be journeying to Schooner
Island where they will DISCOVER how to share their faith. We know
that kids can make an IMPACT for Christ. Our goal is to equip them
to do just that as they head back to school and reconnect with their
friends and teachers.
Moms and dads take a look below at what we will be investigating and
take some time to talk with your kids about it! Our key verse for
the month is 1 Peter 3:15, “If someone asks about your Christian
hope, always be ready to explain it.”

RETURN!
We will be starting a new sermon series this fall from the book of
Malachi. The series is titled,
“RETURN,” yet could have been titled “PRIORITIES” just as easily. We
are a people who often get our priorities out of step with God. The
prophet Malachi addresses that. But why this book for our sermon
time?
What is the last thing God said in the Old Testament? God regularly
spoke to his people . . .that is, until the great hush. After
centuries of dreams, visions, and words through the prophets, the
LORD went quiet to the people of Israel, nothing but eerie silence
for 400 years. And yet, God’s last words to His people before this
time are recorded in the Book of Malachi—and they were not easy
words to hear.
Malachi is a book about unfaithful priests and blemished sacrifices,
but at its core, it is really about half-hearted religion. It is a
story about religious people who were putting on a good show all the
while missing the whole point. In Malachi’s time, God’s people had
become religious ‘performers’ without the engagement of their
hearts. But worshiping God is not about a check list. It is about
being passionate for God. It is about giving God better than our
leftovers.
Malachi has just as much to say to us now as it did to God’s people
nearly 2500 years ago.
Join us as we talk about the importance of moving past empty
religion and into fanatical faith.
