QB Brett Hundley is expected to be OK to practice this week.
Hundley, a second-year pro elevated to Aaron Rodgers' top backup
this year, missed most of training camp because of an injury to
his left ankle. Hundley played only one preseason game.
CB Makinton Dorleant was placed on injured reserved Monday. The
undrafted rookie had made the Packers' initial 53-man roster on
the final cutdown Saturday. Dorleant was hampered by a hamstring
injury early in the preseason.
WR Jordy Nelson is "full go" this week, McCarthy said Monday.
The team's top wideout isn't expected to have any limitations in
the season-opening game at Jacksonville on Sunday. Nelson hasn't
played in more than a year after suffering a torn ACL in the
2015 preseason, but he returned to the practice field the last
two weeks of this year's training camp.
LS Brett Goode was re-signed by the team Monday. The ninth-year
pro had been out of football since he sustained a torn ACL in
the Packers' win at the Oakland Raiders on Dec. 20 last season.
Goode had been Green Bay's long snapper since the start of the
2008 season. Rick Lovato, a first-year pro who finished out last
season as Goode's replacement, was cut Saturday.
G Lane Taylor was named the starter at left guard for the
Packers' season opener at the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
The announcement by head coach Mike McCarthy on Monday came two
days after the stunning release of ninth-year pro Josh Sitton, a
three-time Pro Bowl selection. Taylor made only two starts in
his first three NFL seasons.
