[September 17, 2016] Sept 16 (The Sports Xchange) - The Buffalo Bills fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman on Friday and replaced him with assistant head coach/running backs coach Anthony Lynn.

"This is my move, without question," head coach Rex Ryan said Friday afternoon, attempting to deflate media speculation that owner Terry Pegula pushed the button.

Buffalo put a good number of points on the scoreboard in Thursday night's 37-31 loss to the New York Jets but is off to an 0-2 start.

The Bills totaled 393 offensive yards against the Jets but 155 of them came on two plays. Buffalo also totaled just 160 yards in the season-opening 13-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Roman took the blame for the poor offensive showing against the Ravens and said he needed to improve his play-calling.

The Bills have 10 days to prepare for their Week 3 game with the Arizona Cardinals.

Quarterback Jared Goff, the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, will serve as backup for the Los Angeles Rams for Sunday's game against the visiting Seattle Seahawks.

Goff was not on the active roster and was in street clothes for a season-opening loss at San Francisco on Monday night. Starter Case Keenum finished 17 of 35 for 130 yards and two interceptions in the 28-0 defeat.

Sean Mannion served as the backup in Week 1 with punter Johnny Hekker designated the emergency third-string quarterback.

San Diego Chargers rookie defensive end Joey Bosa will not play in Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a hamstring injury.

Bosa, the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL draft, also missed the opening-week loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He didn't practice this week while nursing the ailment.

According to a report by the NFL Network, Bosa is also in danger of missing next week's road game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Free-agent linebacker Manny Lawson was suspended two games by the NFL.

Lawson was among the final cuts of the Buffalo Bills, even though he was expected to start at outside linebacker.

Prior to Lawson's release, the Buffalo News reported he was the subject of an NFL investigation for a possible violation of the league's personal conduct policy.

Lawson said that he was "shocked" to learn of the probe but acknowledged he was charged in a misdemeanor domestic violence incident in 2014. The charges were later dropped.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.

Charles has been recovering from a torn ACL suffered last October and missed all of training camp. He worked with the scout team in practice this week but is unlikely to play in Houston.

Starting offensive guards Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and rookie Parker Ehinger were declared out with injuries.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has been limited in practice this week but expects to play through a left hip injury against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Thomas was injured in the first quarter of the Broncos' season-opening 21-20 win over the Carolina Panthers last week. Thomas caught four passes for 48 yards in the game.

Starting left cornerback Xavier Rhodes and top interior defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd are out for the Minnesota Vikings' Sunday against NFC North rival Green Bay, the first regular-season date for the franchise at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Rhodes missed Week 1 at Tennessee with a knee injury and was not able to return to practice this week. The former first-round pick is in the final year of his rookie contract. Floyd (knee) was limited against the Titans to just 25 snaps and was ruled out by head coach Mike Zimmer on Friday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars ruled out running back Chris Ivory and cornerback Prince Amukamara for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers.

Ivory will not make the trip to San Diego as he continues to recover from a medical condition that required hospitalization last Sunday. Amukamara reported right hamstring soreness Monday morning and did not practice all week.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, who was added to the injury report as a non-participant in Thursday's practice due to a knee injury, was back on the field Friday before the team heads to Denver on Sunday.

The Colts listed four defensive players as out for the game against the Broncos: defensive tackle Henry Anderson (knee), cornerbacks Vontae Davis (ankle) and Patrick Robinson (concussion) and safety T.J. Green (knee).

Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey will not play in Sunday's game against the New England Patriots due to a hip injury.

The status of running back Arian Foster (hamstring), wide receiver DeVante Parker (hamstring) and defensive end Mario Williams (concussion) will be determined closer to game time. (Editing by Larry Fine) )
