Hundreds of families from throughout central Illinois came to Lincoln this weekend for the Route 66 Shootout Soccer Tournament. The event was hosted by the Lincoln Futball Club and held at nine soccer fields on 27 acres of ground in back of WalMart leased to the club by the city of Lincoln.

Vendors were on hand to supply event shirts and other soccer items, and food. Families were also supplied directions to local eating establishments and family entertainment, such as the Railsplitter Festival.
