[September 19, 2016]    This week the Lincoln Community High School Railer Soccer team got their revenge against the team that beat them 7-1 a year ago. Tables were turned this year as Lincoln came out on top 6-0 shutting out Springfield Lutheran.

From the first whistle it was on, as Quentin Merreighn scored just over a minute and a half in, assisted by Brandon D'Andrea.

Lincoln never let off the gas and ended up with 21 shots taken with 16 of those on goal. Merreighn ended up with a hat-trick in the first half scoring three times.

Tate Sloan added two goals and an assist for the Railers.

Graham Hill, Daryl Hunt, and Payton Lanning also added an assist each for Lincoln, again showing the unselfish play that has been the Railers biggest asset this year.

Aleck Bailey also added a goal and an assist for the Railers.

Keeper Sam Houpt earned the shutout stopping the two shots on goal of the four attempts by Lutheran.

The Railers will travel to Decatur on Tuesday for their next match.
