Obituary
Paula Jo Smith, 68, of Lincoln passed away at 5:10
a.m. September 17, 2016 at The Christian Village in
Lincoln.
Paula was born August 7, 1948 in Vandalia, the
daughter of Paul Joseph and Betty Jane Cheshier
Bates. She married Timothy Harold Smith on May 31,
1968 in Wilmington. He survives in Lincoln.
She is also survived by her daughters, Erin
Elizabeth Smith (Michael) Gates of Yucaipa, CA, and
Tara Jane Smith of Phoenix, AZ, and one sister,
Rebecca Jane Rippetoe of Altamont. She was preceded
in death by her parents and one brother, Joseph Paul
Bates.
Paula retired from Senior Services of Central
Illinois. She was a member of the Junior Women’s
Club, Lincoln Public Library Board, and she was an
avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. |
A memorial service for Paula will be held at later
date for family and friends with Chuck Sackett
officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Paula’s name to
The Logan County Humane Society or CCAI Adoption
Services.
