Obituary
Joy A. Upton, 63, of Bloomington, passed away at
2:19 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Heartland
Health Care Center in Normal.
Graveside services will be held for Joy at 10:00
a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016, in the Atlanta
Cemetery. Miss Candi Evans will officiate.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Joy Ann Evans was born December 5, 1952, in
Bloomington, the daughter of Weldon and Rose Mary
Kruse Evans. She was united in marriage to Stephen
Messenger in October 1971. She later married Danny
Upton in December 1990. He preceded her in death on
March 9, 2014.
Joy is survived by her two sons: Todd (Carissa)
Messenger of Clinton and Bob Messenger of Peoria;
one brother, Steve (Nova) Evans of Clinton; and
seven grandchildren: Sam, Rachael, Jacob, Grayson,
Matthew, Callison, and Sarah Messenger. |
She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny, and her
parents.
Joy had worked in the circulation department of the Pantagraph
for many years.
Memorials may be made to Home Sweet Home Mission in Bloomington.
Final arrangements entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of
Atlanta.
