Sept 27 (The Sports Xchange) -
Washington Nationals All-Star catcher Wilson Ramos suffered a torn
ACL in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season, manager
Dusty Baker announced Tuesday.
Ramos suffered the injury on Monday, two days after the Nationals
clinched the National League East title.
Ramos recently turned down a contract offer from the Nationals and
appears headed to the free-agent market.
Ramos, 29, was having a career year and was named to the All-Star
team for the first time. He is hitting .307 with 22 home runs and 80
RBIs, all personal bests.
The Nationals also called up catcher Spencer Kieboom from Double-A
Harrisburg.

Nationals right-hander A.J. Cole received a five-game suspension and
an undisclosed fine for intentionally throwing a pitch near the head

PNC Park in Pittsburgh.
Cole's suspension was scheduled to begin Tuesday, but Cole has
decided to file an appeal, so he will be allowed to play until the
appeal is heard.

Miami Marlins left fielder Marcell Ozuna said Jose Fernandez had
invited him to go out on his boat after Saturday night's game.
Ozuna declined the invitation because his wife and kids were waiting
