New York Islanders captain and center John Tavares is considered
week-to-week because of a lower-body injury, the team announced on
Saturday.
Tavares sustained the injury in the third period of Friday's 2-1
victory over the New Jersey Devils. The 26-year-old needed
assistance to leave the ice after trying to avoid Devils defenseman
Steven Stantini.
Tavares has a team-leading 66 points (28 goals, 38 assists) for New
York (36-29-12), which has an uphill climb in its quest for the
postseason with only five games remaining on its schedule.
The Islanders recalled forward Connor Jones from the Bridgeport
Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. Jones, 26, has played 56
games with the Sound Tigers this season, recording 18 points (five
goals, 13 assists).

The St. Louis Blues recalled defenseman Petteri Lindbohm and forward
Kenny Agostino from their AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, under
emergency conditions.
Lindbohm, 23, appeared in 47 games for the Wolves this season,
posting 15 points (seven goals, eight assists). He played in five
games for the Blues, serving four penalty minutes.
Agostino, 24, leads the AHL with 79 points (22 goals, 57 assists)
through 63 games with the Wolves this season. He also made seven
appearances with the Blues, posting one goal, two assists and two
penalty minutes.

The Tampa Bay Lightning recalled forward Joel Vermin
from the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL.
Vermin, 25, skated in 16 games with the Lightning
this season, recording three assists. He played in 22 career NHL
games, all with the Lightning over the past two seasons, notching
four assists and four penalty minutes.

The Carolina Hurricanes reassigned goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic to
the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
Nedeljkovic, 21, made his NHL debut in relief on Jan. 17 at
Columbus, and had 17 saves on 17 shots faced in Carolina's 4-1 loss
to the Blue Jackets. He appeared in 25 games this season for the
Charlotte Checkers of the AHL, posting an 8-14-1 record, a 3.40
goals-against average and an .881 save percentage. In 10 games with
the Everblades, Nedeljkovic has a 4-4-0 record, with a 3.64
goals-against average and a .885 save percentage. (Editing by Gene
