April 2 (The Sports Xchange) -
New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose will miss the rest of the
season after tearing the meniscus in his left knee, the team
announced on Sunday.
The 28-year-old's latest injury setback will necessitate
arthroscopic surgery. Rose will have his fourth surgery to either
knee -- he tore his left ACL in 2012 and also underwent two
surgeries on his right meniscus.
Rose, who is set to enter free agency this offseason, averaged 18.0
points, 4.4 assists and 3.8 rebounds over 64 games in his first
season with the Knicks.
The Knicks traded for Rose last June in a multi-player deal with the
Chicago Bulls. He is in the final year of a five-year, $94 million
deal.

Washington Wizards star guard John Wall was fined $15,000 by the NBA
for his public criticism of officiating.
Wall blamed the Wizards' 95-88 loss to the Jazz in Utah on Friday on
the referees, pointing out the free throw discrepancy.
"The refs made us lose this game," Wall said. "We fought hard, we
gave ourselves a chance but you don't shoot no 31 free throws to 16
the way we attack the basket as a team. That's how I feel about it."
