The case stems from a July 6, 2016 incident at the Logan County Jail.
Cox was an inmate at the Logan County Jail awaiting trial on unrelated
charges. While an inmate, Cox struck another inmate, Stephen Nelson.
Nelson suffered a fractured bone in his face elevating the charge to
Aggravated Battery based upon great bodily harm. The 4 year prison
sentence for Cox will be served consecutively to his two other cases: a
4 year prison sentence on Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance
and a 6 year prison sentence on Home Invasion.
