Marion A. Dengler, Jr., 83, of Lincoln, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at Zion Cemetery with Rv. Robert Henderson officiating.

Marion was born April 3, 1933, in Vermillion County, the son of Marion and Cecil Dengler. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lincoln and retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation in Springfield after working in maintenance for several years. Marion enjoyed watching sports, especially boxing, bowling, and racing. He was an avid Lincoln Railer basketball fan and always listened to the games.

Surviving are his daughter Patricia Dengler of Lincoln and stepson James O'Dell of Arizona as well as grandson Kevin Debord.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 263.
