On Tuesday afternoon the Railsplitters hosted the Titans and
lost 2-0 while facing Division I recruit Reid Detmers.
Detmers (4-0) has yet to allow a run all season, bringing his
streak of scoreless innings pitched to 29. Detmers had also held
CS8 competition hitless until Lincoln senior Cole Sheley stepped
to the plate. Sheley’s bunt single in the first inning broke
that streak.
Lincoln would also get two hits apiece in the game from Andrew
Young and Austin Newton. Jacob Maton was 1-2 for the Titans with
a run and an RBI to lead the Titans offense.
Glenwood on Wednesday
On Wednesday afternoon the Railsplitters traveled to Chatham and
suffered an 11-0 loss in five innings. Lincoln managed just one
hit off Jacob Maton, who pitched a gem and also struck out 15
batters.
The Railsplitters only hit came from the bat of Jacob Konczyk.
The Titans offense was led by Todd Fowler, who went 3-3 and had
two RBIs. Jake Ryan also had two hits and two RBIs for Glenwood.
Lincoln’s record falls to 4-8 on the season.
The Railsplitters host a double header with Mahomet-Seymour this
Saturday at 10 a.m.
