Zoom In, Zoom Out: Local 4-H offers Nature Photography Workshops

 

[April 16, 2017]  LINCOLN - Do you enjoy taking photographs and nature? Why not combine your two interests by attending the two-part Zoom In, Zoom Out 4-H photography workshop.

Participants will learn basic photographic principles of color, how to effectively take both close-up and distance photographs, in a natural setting and help communicate with others about the beauty in the natural areas such as at Creekside Outdoor Center for Environmental Education and Kickapoo Creek Park.

The workshops are for youth 5th grade and older. They should bring along their own camera (cell phone cameras fine) and should already be familiar with operation of camera they bring along. This two-part workshop will be held on Saturdays from 10 am - Noon.

The April 22 session will take place at Creekside Environmental Center at 1234 County Road 2000N Lincoln. The May 6 session will take place at Kickapoo Creek Park at 2000 N Jefferson St, Lincoln.

University of Illinois Extension Master Naturalists Bev Noble, a professional nature photographer, and Pam Moriearty will teach the workshops. There is no charge to attend. A maximum of ten will be accepted for this two-part workshop.
