April 21 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Friday's MLB games.
Orioles 2, Red Sox 0
Dylan Bundy took a shutout into the eighth inning, Manny Machado
homered in the fifth inning and the Baltimore Orioles blanked the
Boston Red Sox 2-0 Friday night.
Bundy was masterful for the second straight outing as he allowed six
hits in seven-plus innings.
Nationals 4, Mets 3 (11 innings)
Pinch-hitter Trea Turner drew a bases-loaded walk in the 11th inning
as Washington outlasted New York.
Bryce Harper and Jose Lobaton homered for the Nationals, who won
their fifth straight.
Pirates 6, Yankees 3
Josh Bell and Jordy Mercer homered off CC Sabathia and Pittsburgh
beat New York in an interleague game.
Bell hit a two-run home run in the second inning while Mercer opened
the game with his first home run of the season.
Phillies 4, Braves 3
Jeremy Hellickson turned in another solid outing, outdueled Bartolo
Colon and got just enough run support to help Philadelphia to a win
over Atlanta.
Hellickson allowed two runs and three hits in seven innings. Cesar
Hernandez collected three hits and scored two runs as Philadelphia
stopped a seven-game losing streak to the Braves.
Cardinals 6, Brewers 3
Adam Wainwright did a little of everything as St. Louis beat
Milwaukee.
Wainwright struck out nine in five innings for his first win of the
season. He also hit a two-run homer and added a two-run bases-loaded
single.
Indians 3, White Sox 0
Corey Kluber pitched a three-hitter as Cleveland blanked Chicago.
Kluber struck out nine in his fourth career shutout and 11th
complete game. He only allowed one baserunner to reach second base.
Cubs 6, Reds 5 (11 innings)
Anthony Rizzo hit a three-run home run in the ninth inning and Kris
Bryant lifted a sacrifice fly in the 11th as Chicago outlasted
Cincinnati.
The Cubs rallied from a 5-2 deficit when Rizzo homered off Michael
Lorenzen with two outs in the ninth. Albert Almora scored on
Bryant's sacrifice fly.
Twins 6, Tigers 3
Eddie Rosario hit a tiebreaking three-run homer in the bottom of the
sixth inning and Minnesota beat Detroit.
Jorge Polanco hit the game-tying single before Rosario connected
against reliever Joe Jimenez.
Astros 6, Rays 3
Carlos Beltran hit a home run for the second day in a row as Houston
beat Tampa Bay.
Mike Fiers allowed three runs and seven hits in five innings while
Brian McCann and Yuli Gurriel collected three hits apiece for
Houston.

Rangers 6,
Royals 2
Joey Gallo and Robinson Chirinos each homered twice beat Kansas
City.
Gallo hit a two-run homer and a solo homer for his first career
two-homer game, while Chirinos blasted a pair of solo homers. It
marked the 16th time in club history at least two Rangers had
multi-homer games in the same game.
Rockies 6,
Giants 5
Trevor Story hit a grand slam in the fourth inning off Johnny Cueto
and Colorado edged San Francisco.
Charlie Blackmon added a two-run, inside-the-park homer off Cueto in
the fourth while Tony Wolters contributed three hits.
Padres 5, Marlins 3
Austin Hedges hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning and San
Diego beat Miami.
Hedges hit his fourth home run in six games against David Phelps to
cap a four-run inning. Trevor Cahill allowed one run and three hits
in seven innings for the Padres.
Marcell Ozuna and Giancarlo Stanton homered for the Marlins.
Diamondbacks 13, Dodgers 5
Paul Goldschmidt, Yasmany Tomas and Chris Iannetta had two RBIs
apiece and Arizona sent 14 men to the plate in the eighth inning for
a comeback win over Los Angeles.
The Diamondbacks improved to 7-1 at home by getting six hits and
five walks in the decisive inning. Arizona also scored a run on a
balk by Sergio Romo.
Corey Seager and Chris Taylor homered for Los Angeles.
Athletics 3, Mariners 1
Trevor Plouffe and Yonder Alonso hit solo home runs as Oakland edged
Seattle.
Sean Manaea held the Mariners to one run on five hits over six
innings.
Hisashi Iwakuma gave up three runs on five hits, including two home
runs, over 5 1/3 innings.
Blue Jays 8, Angels 7 (13 innings)
Jose Bautista hit a three-run home run in the top of the 13th and
Toronto held on to beat Los Angeles.
Bautista hit his first home run of the season off Jesse Chavez, who
was scheduled to start Sunday.
Mike Trout homered and was hit by a pitch with the bases-loaded in
the 13th when the Angels sent nine men to the plate. The marathon
